Service Contracts and On-Site Training for Harrel Extrusion Systems.
Almost every industrial plant in the U.S., or, for that matter, in the world, has a regular routine maintenance contract on their furnace. Another on their copying machines. They recognize that such important plant equipment can only be counted on to be always available and operating properly if it is inspected and maintained on a regular basis.
But for some reason, many plants fail to give the same consideration and that same foresight to the care of the extrusion systems in their plants. They know, of course, that extrusion equipment is far, far more important to their operations, but day after day, and year after year, they simply throw the switch and expect that everything will remain in tip-top operating condition.
Proper maintenance of extrusion lines is not a question of sentiment, but rather of cold, hard economics. Plant managers must recognize that it pays off to have an outside Service Engineer come in on a regular basis, to:
- Check the equipment from hopper to product take off to:
- Make sure every single component is operating just as it should.
- Make those minor repairs your operators have been putting off.
- Spot worn components or items that are likely to become problems -- before they shut the line down.
- Adjust all the trims for optimum performance.. Your operators seldom have the time to do these important tune-ups. You get tune-ups done periodically on your automobile -- why not on your extrusion line?
- Calibrate all sensors and control loops. Our Service Engineers provide calibration certificates, traceable to NIST that meet all the requirements of the FDA and other government agencies,
- Provide training for new operators and refresher training for older ones. Few companies can afford the supervisory time to keep operator training up to optimum levels. Too many companies fail to take advantages of cost savings from the automation built into Harrel equipment -- simply because their operators do not have the depth of training needed to feel comfortable in the use of those automated loops. Training is a continuous process, not a one-time affair!
- Routine service contracts save you money in another way, too. Whenever a Harrel Field Engineer goes into a region to service one installation, he checks with others in the same area. By combining calls, he can save you much money on transportation costs!
- If you have an annual service contract with Harrel, you automatically get a 5% discount on parts, too. It's worth that to us to know that our equipment is being maintained properly!
