THE VISCONTROL PROCESS -- VISCOSITY CONTROL IN EXTRUSION
- Exclusive patented Harrel VISCONTROL process provides closed loop control of the viscosity of the plastic in a production extrusion process.
- VISCONTROL can be included on any Harrel GEARTRUDER® to stabilize not only the quantity of the plastic extruded but also one of the most important characteristics of that extrudate -- the viscosity. In tubing extrusion systems, VISCONTROL combines with Harrel's TUBETROL system to form TUBETROL-PLUS. In sheet systems it becomes SHEETROL-PLUS. With wire systems it is WIRETROL-PLUS, etc.
- VISCONTROL can also be added as an upgrade to extrusion systems of any manufacturer to bring the advantages of viscosity control.
- Viscosity control is especially important when extruding highly variable polymers like polyurethane.
Viscosity has for many years been like the weather -- everyone talks about it a lot, but no one does anything about it. Well, now they can. Harrel's patented VISCONTROL process makes it possible actually to control the viscosity of the plastic in any production or laboratory extrusion process using a Harrel GEARTRUDER. In the case of existing lines, the extruder is first converted to a GEARTRUDER by adding a melt pump, and the VISCONTROL process is then added to the system.
